説明
Net erosion at ITER-FEAT divertor surfaces is simulated by a Monte Carlo dynamic simulation code of plasma-surface interactions, EDDY. In this code, plasma ions impinging on the divertor surfaces are assumed to be D1+ fuel, He1+ and He2+ ash, and C1+–C6+ impurity, which were calculated by B2-EIRENE code. The simulation results along outer and inner vertical target surfaces fabricated of C as well as dome surface fabricated of W in the divertor are presented and described in terms of redeposition of physically and chemically sputtered particles. In particular, the simulation results for the two vertical plates are compared. At the private plasma region, the simulation results show a similarity between the outer and inner plates: net erosion due to chemical sputtering is predominant and there is no redeposition of sputtered particles due to the lower plasma temperature of private plasma. At the strike-point vicinity, the similarity that net deposition of the impinging C impurity is dominant is also shown. At the SOL plasma region, however, the comparison shows a difference: net erosion takes place for the outer plate, whereas net deposition of the coming C impurity occurs for the inner plate. The difference is due to a difference between SOL plasma temperatures along the outer and inner plate surfaces: the former is higher than the latter. The temperature difference also leads to the difference in the redeposition: for the outer plate, its contribution to the net erosion is stronger. Regarding the dome surfaces, net erosion never occurs again due to the lower plasma temperature of private plasma.
