Abstract

Japanese Regulations and U. S. Federal Regulations are both prescribing to use cathodic protections and protective coatings for corrosion control of pipelines transporting oil and gas. In Japan, a mere use of protective coatings is rulled for pipings in yards and compounds where there is no fear of any electrical corrosion. In U. S., the use of cathodic protection is obligatory without exception for any pipeline having protective coatings.
