抄録

Two types of electochemical test apparatus for use in high-temperature and high-pressure solutions were developed in order to investigate corrosion in chemical plants. One was designed for the solution of 160°C and 30kg/cm2 using a depressurized external reference electrode.<br>The other is for use in solution of 230°C and 250kg/cm2 at maximum. The latter was equipped with a pressure-balancing external reference electrode. In this paper, firstly structures of the two types of electrochemical test apparatus are shown and next their applications to corrosion problems of chemical plants are introduced. The application examples are as follows: 1. Material selection for formic acid-concentrating tower in formic acid plants. 2. Corrosion prevention of ammonia rectifier in ammonia plants. 3. Analysis of corrosion mechanism of 316L steel in urea synthesis reactors.
