Description
The transfer function for heat output of each component which constitutes a solid-polymer-membrane-type fuel cell was determined from transient response characteristics. All the transfer functions were expressed with time lag of first order, and the transient response characteristics of whole-system heat output was investigated using these transfer functions. As a result, the response characteristic for follow-up of electric power load is good. However, the exhaust heat output of a fuel cell and a reformer has dramatically slow response speed. In order to maintain the high efficiency of the system, the device about the heat recovery by thermal storage and utilization by a time shift is required. Since the speed of response of the heat of a system is slow, exhaust heat recovery reaches at midnight. From analysis results, although the response characteristics are good about follow of electric power load, the exhaust heat output of a fuel cell and a reformer is considered to be what has very slow speed of response.
