Description

A new antibiotic, fosfomycin was administered to patients with the respiratory tract infections.<BR>The objects were 5 cases and the drug was administered by intravenous drip infusion at a dose of 1-4 g per day for 8-29 days.<BR>The following results were obtained : <BR>Excellent effect was obtained in 2 cases which showed completely improved symptom and chest X-P, fairly effective in 2 cases, ineffective in 1 case.<BR>The side effect was experienced with fosfomycin in 1 case in whom a diarrhea occurred and, in another 1 in whom serum GOT and GPT rose slightly.
