抄録

1) Sensitivity of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to ticarcillin (TIPC) : <BR>The MIC of TIPC against 50 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from human infections was 25-50 μg/ml, similarly to CBPC or SBPC.<BR>2) Tissue concentrations of TIPC in rats : <BR>Studies on the distribution of TIPC in rats organs after intramuscular injection revealed the highest concentration in liver, followed by kidney.<BR>3) Blood levels and urinary excretion in a patient : <BR>Following a single intravenous administration (drip infusion for one hour) of 1. 0 g TIPC, the maximum serum level was 320 μg/ml after one hour. The urinary recovery rate was 31. 3% in eight hours.<BR>4) Clinical trials : <BR>Four of the six patients responded favorably to the treatment with TIPC.<BR>No side effects (clinically and laboratory findings) were found.
