説明

The in vitro and in vivo antibacterial activity of TE- 031 (A- 56268) was comparedwith those of erythromycin (EM), josamycin (JM) and other antibiotics. The following results were obtained.<BR>1. TE-031 had the same antibacterial spectrum as EM, being active against aerobicGram-positive and -negative bacteria (B. catarrhalis, N. gonorrhoeae, H. influenzae), anaerobic bacteria, L-form bacteria and M. pneumoniae.<BR>2. TE-031 was equally or slightly more active than EM and more active than JM against 388 strains of clinical isolates.<BR>3. TE-031 showed bactericidal activity against H. influenzae, as did EM.<BR>4. TE- 031 was more effective than EM and JM against systemic, subcutaneous and respiratory tract infections in mice.
