説明

The noise level of a flare stack in operation and the propagation characteristic of noise are measured, and in this paper the authors make a brief discription of noise level of a large-size flare stack.<br>The results are as follows:<br>(1) The peak value of sound pressure level is found to be about 30∼50Hz by means of analysis of 1/1 octave-band frequency characteristic of the noise, and the sound pressure level becomes greater in the higher frequency region as Mach Number (U/Uc) increases.<br>(2) The power level (PWL) of a flare burner is proportional to Mach Number of the waste gas flow.<br>(3) Considering the noise level at the distance (r) from source limited to r=2, 000m, in case of Mach Number smaller than U/Uc=0.08 and U/Uc=0.02, the noise level may be permitted in the industrial district and residential area respectivity.
