抄録

In order to get the fundamentals of the separation of 2, 6-diethylnaphthalene (2, 6-DEN) by formation of thiourea adduct, equilibrium constants for thiourea adduct of DEN isomers were determined. Recovery and purity of 2, 6-DEN contained in the thiourea adduct were included in the study. Equilibrium constants for decomposition of thiourea adduct with DEN isomers were optimized by non-linear least squares method. The values of the equilibrium constants for 2, 7-DEN were determined to be 0.399 at 283K and 0.582 at 293K, while those for 2, 6-DEN were 0.0219 at 283K and 0.0335 at 293K. In addition, equilibrium constants for other isomers were evaluated and found to be more than unity. These results indicate that 2, 6- and 2, 7-DEN are included by thiourea molecules so as to form the stable adducts, while other isomers are embedded in the channel formed by thiourea when subjected to formation of thiourea adduct with 2, 6- and/or 2, 7-DEN. The order of adduct forming behavior of these isomers was as follows: 2, 6-DEN>2, 7-DEN>1, 6-DEN>1, 7-DEN>1, 3-DEN. Recovery and purity of 2, 6-DEN separated from its mixtures by formation of thiourea adducts were estimated using the equilibrium constants. Standard deviations between estimation and observation were 3.1% for 2, 6-DEN recovery and 3.5% for 2, 6-DEN purity. Simulated results for the separation of 2, 6-DEN using the equilibrium constants of thiourea adducts with DEN isomers provide the relationship among conditions of formation of adduct, recovery of 2, 6-DEN, and purity of 2, 6-DEN.
