SPO2 monitoring system was introduced in muscular dystrophy chronic care facility of Toneyama National Hospital. Due to the system, the data of SpO2 and pulse rate of every patient with muscular dystrophy under the mechanical ventilation are indicated on the monitor in nurse station timely at a time. For the treatment of respiratory failure of muscular dystrophy, mechanical ventilation therapy is essential. The system is useful tool for management of safety and risk in the treatment of respiratory failure using mechanical ventilation.
