Abstract

An autopsy case with right testicular mixed tumor of immature teratoma in a 28-year-old man was reported.<br>He was poor in prognosis because of delaying of his early consultation.<br>He was referred to our hospital after the development of metastasis on retroperitoneal and supraclavicular lymph nodes and died 10 months later.<br>Autopsy revealed metastasis of the paraaortic, left iliac and supraclavicular lymph nodes and, moreover, lung, liver and peritoneum.<br>Microscopic study revealed mixed tumor with embryonal carcinoma, immature and mature teratoma which corresponded with group IV in the classification of Dixon and Moore.<br>Serum lactate dehydrogenase levels were in parallel with vicissitude of the tumor and finally arose to 1990 units.<br>The literature was reviewed, and diagnosis and treatment were discussed.<br>Testicular tumor is extremely rare, but very important in the fact that it has become curable by the recent advanced techniques of diagnosis and treatment. The treatment mainly consists of high orchiectomy and irradiation. Linear accelerator x-ray therapy is the best method of radiation therapy for testicular tumor.<br>Emphasis was placed on the importance of early detection and appropriate early treatment in testicular tumor.
