抄録

Using sodium thiopentone annaesthesia the penises of four bulls 11/2-4 years old on farms were surgically laterally deflected from the mid-line position to a position in front of the stifle joint on the ventral abdominal wall. They were sutured into this new anatomical location. After the wounds had healed, the bulls were used successfully as "teasers" to aid in detection of oestrous cows. <BR>This technique allows the bulls to mount the cows normally and intromission is prevented with no spread of reproductive diseases.
