Description

Histological observations on boar genital organs were performed to investigate the secretory site of the spherical substances which had been found in the seminal gel.
Spherical substances, approximately 20μm in diameter were detected only in the lumen of the terminal portion of bulbourethral glands.
The spherical substances were stained with Azocarmine G, Sudan Black, Sudan III, IV and PAS.
Process of the formation of spherical substances from small lipid granules was observed in the lumen of bulbourethrel gland.
The spherical substances were observed, also, in the secretions from that organ.
These observations made it clear that the spherical substances which had been found in the boar seminal gel were secreted from the terminal portion of bulbourethral gland.
It was also suggested that they consisted of glyco-lipid granules.
