抄録

Molten Al-1 at% Zn, Mg, Cu and Si and Al-0.1 to 4.5 at% Cu alloys electromagnetically flowing at a rate approximately 10cm/sec were unidirectionally solidified. The constitutional supercooling parameter [|mL|(1-k0) C0/k0], the freezing temperature range [TL-TS] and the segregation coefficient [1-k0] as parameters for the tendency toward formation of equiaxed zone are principally identical. A linear relationships between the percentage of columnar crystal zone and the reasonable parameters are further pursued in terms of the convective flow during solidification.
