Description
In this paper, the authors take up the problem of the Y-type cable crane, in which the skidding cable consists of a track cable and operating lines (one endless line handles a hoisting carriage). Given the location of the connecting point on a plane figure, we derive not only a method of precise computation, but also a practical method for the following two cases: 1. when maximum tension of the track cable suspending the fixed load Pa is equal to the allowable tension Ta, maximum loaded deflection and maximum tension of the guide cable and others can be determined, and 2. when maximum tension of the track cable is equal to the allowable tension Ta, and maximum loaded deflection coincides with the fixed deflection fa, the maximum load Pa and other numerical values can be determined. The second part of the study explains some of general tendencies related to the values obtained under conditions of fixed length of the guide cable in the application of calculation 1. The accuracy of the values by the practical method was fairly good.
