Description
In this paper, the writer attempts to examine only in the over-cutting place what factors of earth ground are apt to bring about the phenomena of over-cutting. First, the stations where the over-cutting rate of earth volume was 120% or more were selected from the stations treated in the previous paper. Next, the response pattern table of factors and outside criteria, and the cross table between factors and outside criteria were made out. The numerical values of factors (categories) were computed by the method of quantification and the score of each station and other necessary coefficients were calculated by those values. The multiple correlation coefficient in the case where all the factors of eight items were adopted was 0.54, and so the accuracy of the total analysis was satisfactory. On the whole, the order of effectiveness that each item of factors gave to the phenomena of the over-cutting of the forest road ground was low, but in these items the order of effectiveness of designed cutting area has proved rather h _??_ compared to others, and in proportion as the area becomes smaller the effectiveness tends to become greater. Considering these findings, it is apparent that the phenomena of over-cutting of the forest road ground are affected collectively and not individually by natural ground factors, and so it can be said that these phenomena are influenced by the artificial technical factors in the earth cutting rather than by the natural ground factors.
