Description

Inheritance of variegation of a sugi horticultural variety, Okinasugi, Cryptomeria japonica D. DON form. albospicata Hort. (variegated type) was studied. After selfing of Okina-sugi, all seedlings showed variegation from the age of two years. Both reciprocal crosses of the variegated type and the normal type produced only normal seedlings. It seems to be inherited with a recessive gene.
