Pin-point light emitting diodes of uniform brightness have been developed. The uniformity is realized by constructing a protrusive conductive region, the protrusion being in the center of the aperture and close to the active region. The uniformity of brightness was improved so that the deviation changed from ±20% to ±10%. Output power of 2.2 mW was obtained at
