抄録

Separation of gaseous mixtures of H2 -CO2 and H2 -N2 were carried out in the temperature range from 293 to 573 K using a composite microporous glass membrane, thin glass membrane coated on the surface of a porous ceramic tubing.<BR>The thickness of the membrane was in the range of 18 to 28μm depending upon the number of dips. The mean pore diameter estimated was in the range of 2.0 to 4.5 nm.<BR>Mechanism of gas permeation through composite microporous glass membrane almost depends upon Knudsen flow but that of carbon dioxide partly on the surface diffusion flow. Nitrogen permeation through only the membrane of smallest pore size depends mainly upon Knudsen flow and partly upon the surface diffusion flow.<BR>Taking into account the change of viscosity in the flow direction, the obserbed data were analysed by the permeation equations proposed by Present and de Bethune, and the calculated results were in good agreement with the obserbed data.
