Abstract
Onaga-dori is a Japanese native breed of long-tailed fowl originated in Kochi Prefecture. Genetic analyses were carried out using 6 flocks of Onaga-doris kept at Nangoku-shi, Tosayamada-cho and Kagami-mura in Kochi Prefecture. Gene frequencies at four blood group (A, B, D and E) and five blood protein (Akp, Akp-2, Es-1, Alb and Tf) loci were examined. Flocks at Nangoku-shi showed high homozygosity at almost all loci examined. The average heterozygosity per bird of these flocks was about one third of that of other area's flocks. Cluster analysis showed that genetic differentiation was not found between flocks within the same area, but found between flocks of different areas. The influence of inbreeding depression in Onaga-doris was discussed.
