When performing the fluid dynamical analysis of snowdrift by using the equation of turbulent diffusion, it is essential to determine the boundary conditions of concentration at the bottom of the snowdrift. The concentration gradient and concentration flux are adopted as boundary conditions. The concept of snow entrainment coefficient is considered useful since it is expected to be a variable related to flow properties and snow particle properties. The κ-εturbulence model is applied as a dynamic model of the snowdrift, and the result is compared with the wind velocity profile and the snowdrift flux in the experiment by using a window tunnel. The diameter used to calculate Garcia's parameter Z is obtained by balancing the drag force and the gravitational and buoyant force of the snow particles. The diameter obtained by SPC is compared with that obtained by this method by examining the relationship between the sand and/or snow entrainment coefficient and Garcia's parameter Z.
