Sex stimulant activity of sesquiterpenes to the males of the American cockroach.

Sesquiterpenes and their derivatives were prepared for the bioassay of sex stimulant activity on the males of the American cockroach. Among these compounds, germacrene D 1, 2-epoxide (XI), 1, 5-dimethylene-2-acetoxy-8-isopropylcyclodec-6-ene (XIV) and shyobu-none (XV) were found to be weak stimulants only for the males of the American cockroach.
