Abstract

Energy saving has been one of the most important objects in Nomachi Mill. Every rotating equipment was studied if it could run with a reduced rotation rate. As inverters became less expensive, every potential case was tested with an inverter. Those, which were effective and were then modified, amounted to 62% of all cases.<BR>One example in a high density tower shows power saving by 56%. From 1991 to 1994, the saving is as below.<BR>Modifications : 503 cases<BR>1991 1994<BR>Purchased power 10, 000 kW 5, 000 kW<BR>Overall power consumption 1, 313 kW/ton paper 1, 136 kW/ton paper
