Description
Numerical analysis of electron heating and current drive by applying lower hybrid wave is investigated by using a one dimensional tokamak transport code including RF associated term. Remarkable electron heating is obtained by adjusting parallel refractive index n to the local electron temperature. It is found that the deposition profile moves outward during RF power input because of the increase in the local electron temperature.<BR>The problem of current drive is also studied for a wide range of parameters and the results are compared with the analysis by Karney and Fisch with uniform plasma model.
