Abstract

The characteristics of cellulose acetate membrane elements and the separation process are discussed, and some of operating history of the reverse osmosis plant are reviewed.<BR>The cellulose acetate membrane have many advantages on the performance, durability and reliability, which are based on the combination of the membrane performance and element structures.<BR>A remarkable developments in the application of the membranes has been accomplished mainly in the field of brackish water desalination, the production of ultra pure water for electronics industry, and the municipal wastewater reclamation.
