説明

The design of a120GH z, 1MW gyrotron is presented along with its performance experimentally verified.The criteria of selecting the oscillation mode are described as well as the design detail of a resonant cavity and a magnetron injection gun.The gyrotron thus developed is a demountable tube which can be separated into several parts such as a magnetron injection gun, a main body, a collector and a window.All parts are connected with flanges and can be exchanged for other parts having different characteristics.The regions operating in the TE 15, 2, 1 mode and neighboring parasitic modes were determined experimentally.An output power of610kW with an efficiency of30.6%was achieved in the TE 15, 2, 1 mode at 120.3GHz.The mode purity was also measured with a k-spectrometer.
