Abstract
The curing of melamine resin during the pressing process of laminates was studied by applying “formaldehyde isolation test”. The results are summerized as follows:<BR>1) The curing of resin during cooling under pressure in total pressing cycle was studied, and the relation between the degree of cure of resin and cooling time was obtained.<BR>2) The degree of cure of resin on each laminate is nearly equal in any position of laminates build-up in one press opening.<BR>3) The curing of resin was relatively slow at pH 8-9 in comparison with the other range of pH.<BR>4) The difference ofLm (the value for the degree of condensation--CH2-/M (melamine)-) in 0.1mol for resin (B-Stage) before pressing had little influence upon the degree of cure for resin (C-Stage) after pressing.
