Abstract

Novel thermosettable poly (2, 6-dimethyl-1, 4-phenylene ether) (PPE) compounds were developed in order to satisfy both high heat resistance and low dielectric constant. Three technologies were applied, i. e., introducing allyl group onto PPE backbone, alloy with triallylisocyanurate, and alloy with epoxy resin. Cured resins show high Tg and excellent dielectric properties. Application to copper clad laminate was also studied.
