Description
Elastic properties of oriented poly (tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) thin films on mica substrate were evaluated by nanoindentation. The PTFE film was prepared by the friction-transfer method. By analyzing the unloading curve, one could obtain the values of hardness H and reduced modulus Er for the oriented PTFE film. A weighting parameter for the film thickness, which is necessary for the estimation of Young's modulus of the PTFE film from the Er value of PTFE on mica in combination with the Er value of mica substrate, was also obtained.
