Polyaddition of well-defined poly (ε-caprolactone) (PCL) oligomers, with 4, 4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) gave oligounit elastomers which was crosslinked with a peroxide. The effect of average number and destribution of oligounits on crystallization behavior of oligounit elastomers was studied by DSC, WAXD, and stress relaxation at a constant extension. The crystallinity of the oligounit elastomers decreased not only with decreasing average unit number (n) but also with narrowing a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of oligomers. The elastomer designed here, showed good strain-induced crystallization behavior and less stress decay.
