Description
We have reported a base-sensitive polymer referred to as base-amplifying polymer (1) which generates amino groups in its side chains in a nonlinear manner by the action of a catalytic amount of bases, which is reasonably called a base proliferation reaction. These amino groups in polymer side chains are highly reactive so that the amino groups can be modified by reactive reagents. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate multi-color patterning of a polymer film of 1 containing a photobase generator by using reactive dyes. We showed that UV exposed area of the film of 1 can be dyed with Reactive Red 2 and Reactive Blue 19 as reactive dyes. Furthermore, 10 μm L & S multi-color patterning of a film of 1 succeeded by repeating UV-irradiation, post-baking, and development with a reactive dye.<br>
