Description

Poly[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate] (PDMAEMA) is known as a thermosensitive and basic polymer in water. At first the acid-base complex was prepared by capturing of acidic carbon black (CB) and PDMAEMA. Secondly, the grafting complex was prepared by grafting of DMAEMA onto CB surface through a radical polymerization. The dispersion stability of the acid-base complex and of the grafting complex were compared by visible spectrophotometry (transmittance at 500 nm wavelength) and dynamic light scattering (particle size distribution). The dispersion stability of grafting complex in water was superior to that of the acid-base complex.<br>
