We have investigated the hierarchical structure in spherulites of linear low density polyethylene by using ultra small angle X-ray scattering (USAXS) technique, small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) technique, and wide angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) technique. Additionally we investigated the structural changes of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) films under uniaxial stretch on the order of submicrons by using 2D-USAXS technique. The USAXS observation found that the density fluctuations larger than lamellar d-spacing exist on the submicron scale, and in some cases, the stretch enhanced the heterogeneity on the submicron order of spherulites along the stretch direction under uniaxial stretching. The SAXS observation showed that the lamellar d-spacing spread along the stretch direction under uniaxial stretching.<br>
