Description

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has attracted considerable attention as a flexible and low-cost evaluation method for the evaluation of thermal environments. There are many studies on the validation of CFD for various flow fields. However, many of these studies were carried out in a forced convection field or the natural convection field of a small and simplified model rather than in an actual room. Accordingly, this study aimed to prepare a database to validate the accuracy of CFD for natural convection in an actual-size floor heating room and to validate turbulence models, differential schemes, grid sizes, etc., used for predicting natural convection. We built an actual-size floor heating room in a thermostatic chamber and performed temperature measurements. The air temperature near the floor and window was measured. We subsequently prepared a validation database for turbulent natural convection flow in a floor heating room.
