<p>When designing the plumbing system of a building, calculation of its water consumption and hot water consumption is necessary. The data used for that, however, are largely based on historical statistical figures, and there is no consistency between the two figures in many cases. In the water load calculation method, a coefficient of 1.0 is used for the water consumption calculation. The hot water consumption can be calculated by changing the coefficient to 0.75. By applying this method, both the water consumption and the hot water consumption of city hotels and business hotels were calculated. The results of the business hotels were compared with the figures obtained with the water supply fixture unit method, which is used for determining appropriate piping sizes.</p>
