Abstract
To investigate the flow mechanisms, especially the energy loss mechanism, in pipe junctions with a rounded edge at the entrance of the lateral conduit and with different branching angles and areal ratios, the dynamic characteristics of the laminar flow were determined numerically. The flow and energy loss mechanisms in the dividing flow are discussed on the basis of the computed results.
