Description

Several methods of calculating the periodic cooling and heating load in buildings, especially, the so-called "Degree-Hour Method", are used widely to estimate the running-cost of heat-sources. On the other hand, it was well-known that the HASP/8001 Dynamic Program is one of the most accurate methods of computing the periodic air-conditioning load in authorized programs. In this study, the temperature-differences including the insulation and internal cooling loads were summed by month on the basis of the "Degree-Hour Method". Next, we produced the brief evaluation sheet shown in this report and estimated the periodic air-conditioning load on a model building in Tokyo by the above method. Then we computed the periodic air-conditioning load computed by the brief method with the one estimated with HASP/8001 Dynamic Program. The results, show that for exterior walls without any heat insulation, the above convenient method of estimating the cooling and heating load agrees quite well with the one computed by HASP/8001 Dynamic Program in the range of 5%. Therefore, we can briefly and accurately estimate the cooling and heating load with this evaluation sheet without complex computations.
