Abstract

In Japan district heating and cooling system is promoted by the national government for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. But at the district heating system supplying only heat in the cold area, it is predicted that the merit of energy efficiency by concentrating the heat sources may not appear. On top of that, it is necessary to improve the flexibility to the customer's change in the future. In this study, in order to build the decentralized energy system which is flexible to the customer's change and contributes to the reduction of the primary energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions as alternative system for existing district heating system in cold area, first the author proposed the decentralized energy system which consists of co-generation systems and other heat sources, integrated control facilities. Second in order to predict the environmental impact reduction effect by introducing the proposed system to the district heating system in cold area, the author evaluated reduction of annual primary energy consumption and CO_2 emissions through case study for actual district heating system located in Hokkaido Prefecture. As a result, the author estimated 13.7% reduction of annual primary energy comsumption and 15.7% reduction of carbon dioxide emission.
