Abstract

Multiple measurement methods of net air volume rate of heat exchangers defined in the previous paper were tested for five commercially available units. Significant differences of identified net air volume rate were observed among the tested units according to the fan position in each unit. Net air volume rate would be affected by the duct length and pressure balance, and airflow network model of total heat exchanger unit was then developed. Consequently, following results were obtained. ・Net air volume rate decreases due to the increase in the pressure loss of outdoor side in both supply air and exhaust air. ・Increase in the pressure loss on outdoor side especially in supply air significantly reduces net air volume rate and net air volume. ・Decrease of the net air volume rate caused by the decrease of pressure loss of indoor side in supply air is compensated and results in the increase of net air volume.
