Abstract
This paper proposes a mobile high-density snow storage system for the purpose of using energy efficiently and saving cost of the utilization of snow and ice as a cryogenic energy source, and the effectiveness of proposed system has been investigated. First, an outline of the mobile high density snow storage system is presented, together with a description of a facility for a practical test. Second, measurement result of snow density was 756kg/m^3 as an average value. A higher density was achieved in comparison with conventional snow storages. Finally, as a result of long term measurement on performance of snow storage, the total amount of snow that was used for cooling and remained in storage additionally was 49.2% at the end of the cooling period.
