The Relationship Between the Dietary Pattern and the Health of Students

Abstract

For studying the relationship between intakes of nutrients and conditions of health, a questionnaire was sent to 663 students including 323 females and 340 males. The Health Index developed by the Tokyo University was adopted for the estimation of health condition of studends.<br>The results are summarized as follows.<br>(1) When it was considerably low to take in nutrients, it was found that female students had physical complaints for digestive organs, mouth and anal region.<br>(2) When it was high to take in nutrients, this survey showed that male students had less complaints in depression, life irregularity and straight-forwardness and female students had less in straight-forwardness, unbalanced emotions, depression, nervousness, and life irregularity. It was also showed that more complaints appeared in vanity and nervousness for male students and in vanity for female students.<br>(3) It was found that multiple complaints and unbalanced emotions observed only among male students were not related to the condition of nutrients intake.
