抄録

In order to search for the correlation between the extrusion characteristics at factory and at Iaboratory, it was concluded that extrusion-type plastometer, for example“Kokas Flow Tester”, capable of indicating the relationship between rate of shear and shearing stress in wide range would be the best.<br>“The Critical Quantity of Filler”, the minimum amount of filler in rubber compound for a good extrusion characteristic, was defined in rubber and filler systems, the standard for design in compounding I. I. R. and other rubbers was proposed, the particular differences of relationships between rate of shear and shearing stress in comparing I. I. R. with other rubbers were ascertained, and also these facts were applied to parctical compounds.<br>Then, it was indicated that relationship between rate of shear and shearing stress calculated from the data of plastometer would generally correspond to thet between output quantity and pressure at die-head given by the experiment using extruder.<br>The conditions for a good extrusion characteristic were established, using the relationships between rate of shear and corrected shearing stress which was calculated under the consideration of *entry effect at nozzle.<br>Moreover, improvement in the relationship between shearing streass and rate of shear in I. I. R. compounds was ascertained under the heat-treatment of Polyac and carbon black systems and mastication with Di-Cup.<br>The conclusion is that I. I. R. has by nature these characteristic properties and these properties are borne due to the slight effectiveness of mastication and remarkable elastic behavior in itself.<br>* The Reference: Entry Effect and Barus Effect<br>T.
