Abstract

A new method has been developed for the quantitative determination of accelerator DMBT. DMBT is readily reduced to MBT (Mercaptobenzothiazol) by hydrogen iodide and releases iodine quantitatively in the mixture of chloroform, acetic acid (glacier) and water. DMBT content can be determined from this released iodine.<br>This method was found to give a quantitative results, having 0.3% errors (=σ) and was operated in 20min.
