抄録

It was found that a metal chloride-halo-organic compound system was able to vulcanize stocks based on butadiene-styrene rubber or cis-1, 4 poly-butadiene.<br>Curing rates of such rubber stocks were very high and the stocks were more scorchy than sulfur curing system. The strength, elongation and hardness of the vulcanizates from these non-sulfur curing systems indicated higher values than those of sulfur cured vulcanizates.<br>In these non-sulfur vulcanizations, EPC black exhibited better reinforcing ability than HAF black but zinc oxide inhibited these vulcanizations, where as stearic acid and zinc stearate enhanced scorching tendency and lowered the modulus of the vulcanizates.
