抄録

Identification of twenty-one kinds of antioxidants was carried out by paper chromatography after color reactions with 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolone hydrazone hydrochloride. The color reaction was done in the same way as described in the previous paper. The reaction products were developed on the filter paper using the mixture of glacial acetic acid, water and acetone (3:6:1 by volume) as the developer. From the color of the chromatogram and Rf-value, it was possible to identify the antioxidant in question. Even when two or three kinds of antioxidants were mixed, it was comparatively easy to separate and confirm them in this method. But, in some cases in which Rf-values were almost equal and the color of chromatograms were very similar, it was not possible to separate them.
