Abstract
The active fillers having unsaturated-group were prepared by the reaction of unsaturated carboxylic acid sodium salts with aluminum chloride. From the results of compounding tests of these for SBR, NBR, BR and EPDM, it was found that the tensile properties of rubber vulcanizates compounded only with the amount of 10phr were remarkably improved, compared with these of control samples. In particuler, the reinforcing effects of aluminum acrylate and methacrylate were notable. From the analysis of the Mooney-Rivlin plots and the crosslinking densities, the effects of reinforcement of the active fillers with unsaturated-group were assumed to be based on the reaction of these with rubber molecules.
