Description

Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy [BSE] is delayed and virulent central nervous system disease and it is considered that the BSE is transmissible with breaking species barrier by the infectious agent called prion. The detail of BSE has not still been made clear fully. For securing safety, some of regulations including preventative treatments have been done so that the BSE infectious agent may not get mixed in with the human food chain, though there is no direct scientific basis that BSE is transmissible to the person. This caused a conversely excessive denial response, and a serious influence has occurred to not only food of the cow origin but also the wide-ranging products. Regulations for the gelatin made from the cow have much effect on the photographic industries which use gelatin as raw material.
