Abstract
The aim was to provide an instant camera that prints photographs immediately where they are taken. However, a variety of hurdles had to be overcome before the camera could gain popularity with the amateur user base, such as camera size and weight, as well as the high price of film.<BR>Based on a market analysis of instant photographs, our company tackled these problems. We succeeded in making the camera the size of a memo pad or a purse and the film the size of a card. As a result, we realized a compact, lightweight main body, which is convenient to carry. We then introduced the new instant system, which uses card-sized film based on a new concept, to the market.
