An accuracy of the Airy's formula is examined. The Airy's formula gives a period of a pendulum excited by an impulsive force. Results obtained are as follows: When an impulsive force works upon a pendulum before it reaches the neutral point, the Airy's formula gives a little less value of the period than the exact one, and when the impulsive force works after the pendulum has passed the neutral point, it gives a little excessive value of the period. The deviation becomes greater when the damping of the pendulum becomes greater and when the working point of the impulsive force becomes distant from the neutral point of the pendulum.
