Description
The intensification of magneto-optic image formed on 82% Ni-Fe alloy thin film was studied applying double layer evaporation technique. The difference of image luminance caused by magneto-optic effect (longitudinal Faraday effect) was indicated as density difference using photographic characteristic curve, and any possible error due to the optical flare was calibrated.<BR>It was found that the density difference ΔDd of the image for various thickness of double layer increased linearly with amplification factor 3.0×10-4. This result coincided well with density difference ΔDs of the single evaporated layer which was used for comparison and reference in this experiment. The direction of magnetization of the second thin film was oriented parallel to the direction of the first thin film and this means that the magnetostatical coupling arises simply from the flux of the first thin film.
